AMADA MAX has a buffer memory where all calls made from and received by AMADA MAX are recorded alongwith details like called/ caller's number, duration, extension number, date/time, cost, etc. This data can be printed on a computer printer or transferred to a computer. In many organizations a lot of mis-use of telecom system has been checked because of this feature. In most cases, the data may not be printed daily, but the boss makes a random surprise check and pulls up the mischief-makers. Automatically, the fear of being caught activates a " psychological lock " in the minds of the users and the mis-use is checked thereafter.
This monitoring capability of AMADA MAX has the following special features:
 
Buffer full indication : AMADA MAX gives an LED indication that the buffer memory is full, so that you may take printout of data from it. But if you don't, it continues to record new calls by deleting the oldest data from it.
 
Computer connectivity of buffer memory using RS232C serial port : AMADA MAX has a built in serial port besides a parallel printer port . This gives connectivity of the system to your PC where you can offload data for longer periods for accounting, if necessary.
 
LED indication of Call status : AMADA MAX has LEDs for MTNL lines/Extensions which show by their colour whether the line is free, or busy on intercom, local or STD call.
 
In Addition : AMADA MAX has other features, which restricts any mis-use of your telecom system.
 
95-code lock : In many organisations employees freely (mis)use the "95" dialing facility to make outstation calls to towns within 200 km distance as allowed by MTNL. These calls do not appear in the STD list of MTNL bills. With AMADA MAX one can program extension-wise restrictions .
 
Call Budgeting : Extensions may be given a specific call budget for a specific period, so that when they consume that budget, their dialing facility is withdrawn . The boss may decide to give additional budget, if necessary. AMADA MAX automatically refreshes call budgets at the end of the period.
 
Restricted Access to Global memory : One can restrict certain extensions from accessing specific areas of global memory where your long distance or private numbers are stored.
 
Call disconnection after predefined beeps : It may be an incoming call or an outgoing call, but if the conversation is too long it blocks a telephone line and may prevent an important customer from calling you . To restrict certain extensions from gossiping over the telephones, one can program automatic call disconnection after pre-defined beeps in AMADA MAX.
 
Four Trunk Groups : AMADA MAX allows dividing your MTNL lines into four groups. For example, you may have STD lines, local lines, hot lines, and internet lines in four different groups. By using this feature, you can disallow access to certain extensions to certain lines, which they may not use.
 
Three types of dynamic locking for preventing misuse: You can lock your own extension by using a password to prevent misuse in the following three ways:
(A) Immediate locking/unlocking: lock the extension as long as you wish. Unlock it whenever you want to and lock it again.
(B) Delayed Auto-shut locking: Unlock your extension in this mode so that the system can automatically lock it after five minutes from your last call - lest you might forget.
(C) Single call locking: Unlock your extension in this mode so that the system will allow only one call after unlocking.
 
Mobile class of service for your convenience : Now you do not have to rush to your extension to make STD/ISD calls. From any other extension, which may have a lower grade facility, you can still make a call, which is allowed, to you by the system from your extension, by dialing your password and extension number. The system will take care to log in this call as your call in the call billing report.

A. Informing you who is ringing your telephone: The Caller-ID feature of AMADA MAX helps you to know the number of the outside caller who is ringing your telephone. This Caller-ID is just as we have it on our mobilephones. If we know the identity of the caller, we can decide whether to accept or reject the call. If we accept the call, we prepare ourselves with the conversation with the caller before we answer the call. Naturally, our response is much better than answering the call blindly, without knowing the ID of the caller. This is like peeping through the door lens to see who is ringing your doorbell before opening the door. Knowing the ID of the caller gives us an opportunity to answer a call in a more "personalized" manner, respond well prepared, and negotiate a better deal.
 
The Caller-ID feature of AMADA MAX has the following features:
  • External Caller-ID is shown on standard Caller-ID phones as well as on keyphones, if connected;
  • Caller's number is shown on such phones for incoming calls even when they are transferred to other such extensions;
  • Called party's number is shown on such phones for outward calls even on transfer to other such extensions;
  • Caller's and called party's numbers are recorded in buffer memory for incoming and outgoing calls respectively and can be printed in call billing report .
 

Thus if the call is transferred to your extension by another extension, who may have either received the call from the outside caller or made an outgoing call, in both the cases, the number is displayed on your extension before you answer the call, if you have an appropriate Caller-ID telephone. Obviously, for Caller-ID of incoming calls, AMADA MAX should receive the data from the MTNL line using DTMF protocol.

 
B. Four message Multi-Level Automatic operator : You can program the AMADA MAX to answer incoming calls with your programmed voice messages and guide the caller to the respective extension. When your customer is greeted by a professionally recorded message, it builds up a great impression about your organization, because this is the way callers are greeted in Multi- national companies.
The Automatic Operator of AMADA MAX has the following special features:
 
Guidance all the way : The Auto-Attendant (automatic operator) can be programmed with a complete set of all the four messages. Separate messages can be programmed for different situations including busy message, no reply message, release message, besides the initial greeting message. If the called extension is busy, or there is no reply, the caller is informed accordingly or if the caller is unable to reach the extension he is requested to wait till the call is answered by the help desk. If there is nobody to answer the calls, say on a holiday, the caller is requested to call later before the line is disconnected.

Thus callers are greeted uniformly in a professional way and regular callers can reach the desired extensions faster. At the same time new callers do not get confused because of the step-by-step guidance at each stage.  
 
Programmable number of retries : The Automatic Operator can be programmed for multiple retries for busy, or "no-reply" situations, so that the chances of the call going to the manual help-desk are minimized. The Automatic Operator tries the particular extension repeatedly after a pause, and at each stage informs the status to the caller.
 
Group calling : The caller can be given the option of dialing a code for accessing an extension group like "dial 51 for sales department, 52 for service department". This helps in hunting for a free extension of the group , and connecting the call faster, reducing the possibility of going to the help desk. Boss-Secretary feature : You can use this feature so that your secretary can screen calls before they are transferred to your extension.
 
Auto FAX Homing: A FAX tone is sensed on incoming FAX calls, which are answered by the Automatic Operator, and the call is automatically directed to the extension having the FAX machine.
 
C. Professional Audio port : AMADA MAX has the facility by which you can have a "hold" music or message of your own choice. When the calls are put on hold, the caller will hear the message or music that you are playing on any audio device, like a tape recorder, CD or PC, which is connected to the audio port of AMADA MAX. It is the same way you hear when you call multinational companies. You can even play a small advertisement of your products.
 
Features of AMADA MAX that help you to improve efficiency
 
Auto-redial: This feature helps you to repeatedly try a number, which you want to contact urgently.
 
Delayed Hotline: If an executive needs to call a destination, internal or external, too often, the feature of “hotline” becomes very useful. But now you can have a delayed hotline in AMADA MAX. That is if you do not start dialing within five seconds, the hotline will be activated. So you need not have a telephone dedicated as hotline.
 
Built-in UPS with battery charger: If you need to connect external battery back-up for an un-interrupted power supply, the system provides you with a built-in charger to recharge your batteries on-line. There is no need to buy an extra battery charger, but only the batteries. This keeps your AMADA MAX working for a few hours even on power failure.
 
Flexible DOSA : You can make a call through your office line, where a AMADA MAX is installed, even from outside - say from your residence or mobilephone, using a secret password. You can call a DID line, have access to another MTNL line and make a call. The destination can be programmed without restriction if you want to.
 
External call forwarding (call divert): User can receive calls even outside office on your mobilephone or land line, by programming an external call forwarding.
 
Flexible User defined reports: AMADA MAX allows D-BASE type ease & flexibility to the user while printing call billing reports. Analysis can be made extensionwise, trunkwise, datewise, etc.
 
Remote programming with customer permission: This helps the service provider to program remotely from the service centre without having to visit the customer's premises and provide quick and prompt service to the customer.
 
Long-life intelligent KEYPHONE console (Optional): The bigger configurations of AMADA MAX support a keyphone as masterphone. This may be used as an executive keyphone or for an operator to handle high telephone traffic. The KEYPHONE CONSOLE has classy looks, which will suit the image of your organisation. The keyphone has a two line alpha-numeric display, 24 DSS keys with LEDs for one touch access, auto-answer just by lifting the handset and two way handsfree speakerphone facility. Keyphone Never busy: If programmed with this feature, even when the keyphone is busy, the internal caller wanting to talk to the keyphone will not get a busy tone. Instead there will be a call waiting tone and the call will be connected as soon as the keyphone becomes free. In the meantime the keyphone will get an indication of the waiting call. This eliminates the necessity of having two extensions .
